The Geography program at Valparaiso University is staffed by an experienced, award-winning faculty from both geography and meteorology. Faculty members in the program draw on considerable expertise in geomorphology, conservation, computer cartography, GIS, severe weather, climatology, atmospheric modeling, and remote sensing.

The program emphasizes a blend of both theory and application, resulting in rigorous but exciting courses with significant hands-on work.

Careers Prospects

The B.S. in geography prepares students for employment in GIS, remote sensing, cartography, environmental impact assessment, land use analysis, surveying, or with the U.S. Geological Survey, the Census Bureau, or the National Park Service.

Students are also prepared for graduate work in physical geography, geoscience education, environmental science, geology, and other natural science degree programs.
