Overview

The Art program of Andrews University is an academic liberal arts degree with a broad interdisciplinary program that is suited for those students anticipating graduate school either in their related emphasis field or another academic discipline.

Why Art at Andrews

  • Spend a summer touring to countries like Italy, France, Egypt and Jordan. You'll get to sightsee, sharpen photo and design skills, and understand the beauty of art in different cultures.
  • Hands-on experience is critical for landing the perfect job. Get an internship and also volunteer. Try adding a language like French, German or Italian, offered right here at Andrews.
  • There are lots of opportunities to get inspired locally or in nearby cities like Chicago. Artists who stand out in the field dive into art history, visit museums and, of course, constantly make art!
  • Our art history majors can work at the on-campus Siegfried Horn Archaeological Museum. The museum is home to over 8,500 ancient artifacts and 3,000 ancient cuneiform tablets.
  • We offer four degrees that meet individual needs and serve as the starting point to the achievement of dreams. Paintings, drawings, sculptures... You name it, you’ll make it!

Careers in Art

Our art degree is the ideal starting point for your career. What can you do? Work as a college professor of art, fine artist, illustrator, sculptor or potter. Where? There are opportunities in museum, hospital or school settings. And if you want to be your own boss, you can even open your own gallery someday.
