If you are planning a career in business, international relations, public health, nursing, medicine, education, social work, or criminal justice—among other careers—the minor in Spanish can give you the language skills to have an edge in the job market. The Spanish program at Worcester State University allows you to focus your learning with a minimum of 6 credits of electives. Up to 12 credits of the 18 required credits can be earned by taking the CLEP exam, departmental placement exam, or Seal of Biliteracy. AP credit will award 6 credits.

This program has been configured to maximize the potential of the student in today’s professional climate, consolidate their study of the language, as well as to prepare the student for admittance into graduate programs.
Students who major in Spanish will develop fluency in listening, speaking, reading and writing skills and will study the culture, history and literature of Spain and the Americas.
