Overview

Recognized as one of the top programs in New England and beyond, Dance is one of the few programs in the nation to offer intensive training in ballet, jazz, modern, hip hop and tap. Dean College dance program combines conservatory-level training with a broad foundation in the liberal arts. 

The Bachelor’s Degree in Dance program with a required concentration in one of four areas features: 

  • Expert faculty who are professional performers 
  • Master classes with nationally known performers such as Diane Walker, Al Blackstone, Jay-T Jenkins, and members of Alvin Ailey, Pilobolus and Mark Morris
  • A wide array of performance opportunities
  • On-campus auditions with talent agencies

Founded in 1865, Dean is fully accredited and has the history, reputation and status students expect from a 150-year old college. Several of our buildings are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Funding

Dean College awards more than $20 million in scholarships and grants annually to assist students in funding their educations. An astonishing 90 percent of Dean students receive some form of merit-based aid with an average award amount of $19,000 per year. Dean College believes in making a private college education as affordable as possible, therefore most awards are renewable yearly provided the student maintains satisfactory academic progress towards a degree.
