Overview
The Classics program at the Colorado College examines the complex interactions of ancient peoples in an area that today spans much of Europe, the Middle East and North Africa.
They study these civilizations from a broad variety of perspectives including literary analysis, history, archaeology, gender and sexuality, linguistics, mythology, economics and religion. They teach students to read Latin and Greek, offer a broad range of classes about the ancient world using materials translated into English, and often teach courses abroad in Greece or Italy. The department is committed to teaching courses that reflect the diversity and interconnectedness of the ancient world.
