Overview
During this full-time, four-year Premedical and Health Studies at Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, you’ll work with closely with faculty mentors who have years of expertise in both teaching and advising.
You’ll complete required prerequisites for medical and other professional schools through an interdisciplinary health studies curriculum that balances the basic and laboratory sciences with courses in the liberal arts.
When you graduate, you’ll be well prepared to attend chiropractic, dental, medical, occupational therapy, optometry, osteopathic, physical therapy, physician assistant, podiatry, or veterinary school, or graduate education in nutrition, speech-language pathology, public health, health administration, or other health-oriented programs.
Program Goals
- To provide a degree program for students seeking undergraduate preparation for a professional practice degree in allopathic medicine, chiropractic, dentistry occupational therapy, optometry, osteopathic medicine, physician assistant studies, physical therapy, podiatric medicine, speech-language pathology, or veterinary medicine
- To provide a degree program that will prepare students for graduate education in nutrition, public health, health administration, or other health-oriented fields
- To offer opportunities for students to gain admission to professional programs through institutional affiliations that have specific advantages or opportunities such as accelerated progression, preferential or assured admission, or early acceptance

General requirements
Official transcripts from all secondary schools attended should be submitted by your guidance counselor or a school official. First quarter grades from senior year should be included if available when you apply.Applicant's transcripts should include the following:
- Math: Algebra 1 & 2 and Geometry are required however it is recommended that applicants complete four years of math up to Precalculus or Calculus.
- Science: Biology and Chemistry are required however it is recommended that applicants complete four years of lab science. Additional recommended courses may include Anatomy and Physiology, Physics, AP Biology or AP Chemistry.
- English: Four years of English
- Social Sciences: One year of history is required. A well-rounded curriculum of additional social science courses is recommended.
