Through a diverse range of discussion-based courses in literature, film, criticism and writing, majors prepare for a variety of careers while gaining a better understanding of the human experience.

As a major in the English program of Siena College, you can expect small, engaged classes taught by professors focused on your journey. You'll encounter enriching, enduring works of literature, explore new perspectives, build cultural knowledge, learn to form logical, evidenced arguments as well as develop an original communication style. English Language Requirements

General Requirements

  • Complete an online application
  • Send all transcripts and school results from each secondary school and post-secondary school that you have attended
  • Submit a personal essay of 1-2 pages describing your interest in Siena College and your goals for studying in the United States
  • Submit one letter of recommendation
  • The SAT and ACT are optional
  • Non-native English speakers are required to submit an English proficiency score from the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) examination or the International English Language Testing System (IELTS)
