The Journalism program offered by Florida Gulf Coast University guides students to enter the world of journalism and related fields.

Our program's courses are a nice mix of theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience which emphasizes clear writing, factual accuracy, critical thinking, ethical and legal principles, social consciousness, technological skill, and practical, hands-on reporting and editing experience. In this way, students will develop an awareness of the role of journalism in a democratic society and think critically about emerging issues in journalism and mass media.
