Atlanta provides biochemistry and molecular biology majors tremendous resources for experiential learning opportunities, including internships and practicum experience at the following locations:
- The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
- Emory University School of Medicine
- Georgia Institute of Technology/Emory Biomedical Engineering Program
Campus Involvement
- Many biochemistry and molecular biology majors are members of biology honor society Beta Beta Beta and the award-winning student-affiliate chapter of the American Chemical Society, as well as members of more than 70 other student-run organizations and clubs on campus, providing plentiful opportunities to lead, shape and enjoy campus life. Majors have held many student leadership positions, including president of Student Government Association and president of Student Senate, among others.
Faculty Research on Campus
- Faculty in the biology and chemistry departments are actively engaged in research. Opportunities for student/faculty research collaborations are available both during the academic year and the summer.
