Our graduates in the English Literature program at Susquehanna University work for literary agencies, as social media gurus and for Fortune 500 companies. Some do advanced research in education, library and information science or public advocacy. Double majors with a literature background stand out on medical and law school applications.

We encourage teaching assistantships for insight into curriculum development and classroom management. Combined with an education degree, you'll be ready to step right into the classroom and teach.

We offer one of the only publishing and editing majors in the country. You'll have ample opportunities to publish your own work and contribute to eight department-focused student publications.

Our interdisciplinary minors, like women's studies and public policy, help you gain a better understanding of important topics in today’s world.

Completed online application for admissions (There is no application fee). Susquehanna International Application or Common Application

Counselors submit School Report Forms to us if you supplied an email address through your online application.

TOEFL, IELTS or Duolingo English Test score report required — can be waived for SU ELL graduates, or if your high school instruction is in English for all years. Unofficial (screenshot or PDF) reports will be accepted.

SAT and ACT scores are optional, but may improve your chances for a merit scholarship.

Two recommendation letters. It is strongly suggested to have one from your school counselor. The other can come from a teacher or professor.

Passport copy of your name and photo page.

Completed International Student Financial Aid Application. Please note that full scholarships are not available.
