The programme

Students in the Applied Exercise Science and Health degree program at the Northern Michigan University will share a strong foundational core of classes and choose a concentration area in their junior year for advanced course work leading to career advancing knowledge, and / or preparation for nationally recognized certifications and graduate degree admissions.

Applied Exercise Science and Health majors must achieve a grade of “C” (2.00) or higher in all major courses. In addition, students are expected to follow a lifestyle commensurate with their professional aspirations.

- Transcripts - Request your official high school transcript(s) be sent to the Admissions Office. If you have earned a G.E.D. or equivalent, request an official score report be sent to NMU.
- Transcripts from non-U.S., non-Canadian institutions must be sent to an external agency for evaluation.
- High School Grade Point Averages - NMU will use the overall cumulative GPA reported on the high school transcript.
- Non-native speakers of English must prove an adequate level of English language proficiency for admission into an academic program.
