Modern Biology of Global Health encompasses an extraordinary range of disciplines, from molecular genetics to global health and sustainability.

Learning outcomes

A principle objective of the Department of Biology at University of Saint Thomas Saint Paul is to provide students with an excellent preparation for post-graduate pursuits. Graduates of the program command an understanding of core concepts in biology as well as an ability to design and implement studies of biological questions.

The department evaluates its success in achieving these objectives using several tools, including assessments of all students as they progress through our programs.

General requirements

The admissions committee considers each student’s academic record, essay, and recommendations, if applicable. Depending on the Admission Type to which you applied - Early Action or Regular Decision - applications are reviewed by the Admissions Committee and decisions announced at the respective notification date.

Each accepted applicant should make a $400 confirming deposit to reserve a place in the class and in university housing.

First-year students are required to live on campus their first and second years at St. Thomas unless they are granted an exception to this policy.Transfer students may also have a residency requirement. Residence Life can provide additional information about the policy and the exception process.

Each confirmed student is required to provide a final high school transcript after graduation prior to the first day of class in the first semester of admission.
