Overview

As an early childhood educator, you’ll introduce your students to entirely new worlds. You’ll teach them the joy of discovery, the enchantment of learning, and the power of imagination. To prepare you for such a vital role, Ferris offers you in-depth courses on every aspect of child growth and advancement.

Careers

Graduates of the Early Childhood Education major find positions in Head Start programs, day care centers or family day care homes, elementary schools, hospitals, recreation centers or other child-oriented businesses.

Job opportunities for students with an Early Childhood Education degree from Ferris State University are increasing as parents rely more and more upon childcare outside the home.

Other graduates use their training in child development to supplement studies in nursing, dental hygiene, optometry, education, small business management and other business programs.
