The Commercial Music program of Kutztown University with an emphasis on active learning, the comprehensive music curriculum gives students extensive experience in their chosen field of study.

The outstanding music faculty mentors and fosters each individual student's development and guides them to professional success. Kutztown University is an All Steinway School and host of the Center for Mallet Percussion Research.

Internship Opportunities

Internships are a key ingredient to success, allowing students to apply classroom knowledge to real-world applications. It defines career interests and allows students to get their foot in the door for a first full-time, permanent employment.

In addition to internships, music students may work as student assistants in the music office, tutoring center, KUPresents, Schaeffer Auditorium, piano maintenance, recording engineer, ensemble library, or as assistants to ensemble conductors.

Pay the $35 USD Application Fee in the application portal

Submit Proof of English Proficiency.

Send an official high school transcript to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. High school transcripts must be sent directly from the high school. GED results must be sent directly from the Department of Education.

You have the option to submit SAT or ACT scores. KU is currently test-optional.
