Overview

The mission of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Tennessee State University, commensurate with the mission of the University and the College of Engineering, is to provide quality Electrical Engineering, Computer and Information Systems Engineering, and Biomedical Engineering education, pursue basic and applied research (inquiry) in selected and focused critical areas, and to engage in service to its constituents.

The department also offers a concentration in computer engineering under the B.S.E.E. degree.

Student Outcomes

The outcomes of the program require that the graduating student demonstrate the following:

An ability to identify, formulate, and solve complex engineering problems by applying principles of engineering, science, and mathematics.

An ability to apply engineering design to produce solutions that meet specified needs with consideration of public health, safety, and welfare, as well as global, cultural, social, environmental, and economic factors.

An ability to communicate effectively with a range of audiences.

An ability to recognize ethical and professional responsibilities in engineering situations and make informed judgments, which must consider the impact of engineering solutions in global, economic, environmental, and societal contexts.

An ability to function effectively on a team whose members together provide leadership, create a collaborative and inclusive environment, establish goals, plan tasks, and meet objectives.

Official transcripts from colleges/universities attended in the United States

Official transcripts and authorized school records with a course-by-course listing of courses and grades received; such transcripts must have been evaluated by a foreign educational credential agancy, at the student's expense.
