Academic Requirements

You need the following GPA score:

Required score: 2

Applicants for graduate programs must have the equivalent of a bachelor’s degree with a minimum GPA equivalent to 2 on a US 4.0 grading scale. Admitted applicants typically have an undergraduate GPA of or better on a 4.0 scale. No exam grade should be lower than 4.5 (European grade scale) or D (American grade scale).

Your GPA (Grade Point Average) is calculated using the grades that you received in each course, and is determined by the points assigned to each grade (e.g. for the US grading scale from A-F).

General Requirements

  • Candidates for admission are reviewed based on their academic performance in high school and either SAT or ACT scores.
  • The minimum GPA for admission consideration is a 2.0. The mid-50% average high school GPA for admitted students last year was 3.08-3.81, though students were admitted with GPAs ranging from 2.0 to 4.0 depending on other qualifications.
  • The average ACT composite is 20-25, and the average SAT composite is 1030-1200. ACT sub-scores in English and Math, SAT scores in Evidenced-Based Reading and Writing and Math are especially important in admission decisions, as they also determine placement in courses at FLC.
