About the program

Students who choose the Communication Studies program at Tarleton State University may select from a variety of minors to complement their career aspirations, and students who choose to major in other fields will be able to choose Communication Studies as a minor. There are three different concentration options to choose from in our degree. These concentrations or minors are offered on select campuses.

Program Objectives

Students will graduate with the investigative skills and hands-on experience that employers demand.

Students will gain real-world experience participating in public relations and event management activities for profit and non-profit organizations throughout Central Texas.

Students will have the knowledge to pursue a career in such diverse fields as administration, management, and consulting.

Internships

Students are advisex to complete internships, however they are not requirex for this degree. In addition to the rewarding experience an internship offers, students can earn up to six hours of college credit upon completion of an internship position. Our students completed internships with well-known organizations, such as:
