All of a sudden you started seeing things in yourself others had seen all along. You’re the one people look to for direction. You’re the one who assigns tasks to people based on their strengths. You instinctively know how to motivate people to do their best work. And how to tackle complex challenges. You’re a leader, all right. And the Business Management program of Capital University is the next logical step along your path to success.
What you'll learn
Capital is located in a major metropolitan area, and our professors have strong contacts with leaders of major corporations and small businesses, alike. We continually shape our curriculum based on what they tell us they need in future employees and leaders.
This is what they tell us: They need graduates who are more than just technical experts. They're looking for employees who are adaptable, strong communicators and talented analysts who thrive in complexity. At Capital, you’ll master the broad foundation expected of all business majors — accounting, management, marketing, economics, finance, business law and management information systems. But you’ll acquire that knowledge in a distinctive context that emphasizes the liberal arts — critical thinking, analytical skills, ethical leadership, logic, communication, global and historical context and human interaction, motivation and management in organizational settings. You’ll learn to apply business skills in complex environments.
As you learn in the classroom and through internships, whether they’re at a Columbus-based Fortune 500 company or the boutique firm down the street, you’ll take on class projects that pair you with real-world clients, and research projects with your professors.
You’ll build your knowledge base, apply your new skills, and refine your leadership and management styles. You’ll learn how to think strategically, to anticipate and adapt to the constant change that characterizes today’s workplace, to manage group dynamics, and to bring out the best performance in your staff and your organization.
