Overview

Approximately one third of the four-year B.A. program is in music. The B.A. program requires four semesters of world language study (e.g., French, Spanish) and a minor outside of Music. Within the music course work, classes in Personal and Social Responsibility help students chart their own career pathway.

A Bachelor of Arts degree (B.A.) is a well-rounded liberal arts degree with a chosen major. With the B.A. in Music at The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, about one third of the hours come from music courses.

The remainder are from general education courses, four semesters of foreign language study, and a chosen minor (e.g., communication, business, psychology, public administration, etc.).

It is the most flexible music degree, allowing a student to tailor the degree to their desired career path.
