Modelled after degree requirements in the Bellarmine College of Liberal Arts, this Mathematics program from Loyola Marymount University program requires students to complete the full University Core and is ideal for students interested in double-majoring in mathematics and a liberal art.

Student learning outcomes for the mathematics majors:

Content Proficiency. In each of the following subject areas of mathematics:

State and use basic definitions and theorems.

Solve basic problems.

Decide on useful approaches to more complicated problems.

Explain the central concepts of the subject.

Communication. Students will be able to communicate mathematics both orally and in writing. They will do so according to accepted standards in mathematics.

Tools. Students will employ a variety of tools such as the library, Internet, computers, and calculators to solve problems and do undergraduate research.

Independent Learners. Students will be able to independently investigate a mathematical topic.

Career and Professional Preparation. LMU mathematics graduates will be prepared to engage in mathematics-related professions or in a graduate school academic environment. This preparation will include significant pre-professional experiences.

Submit a letter of recommendation with your application.
This should be sent from an official at the school you attend. A letter from a teacher and a letter from your counselor or principal is recommended. One letter of recommendation is required.
Send your transcripts to Undergraduate Admission.
All first year applicants should include their grades on the application they chose to submit or upload a copy of their transcripts. Enrolling first year applicants must all submit official final high school transcripts before school begins, showing your high school graduation date.
Transfer students must also submit transcripts from each college or university attended.
