The B.A. program in Spanish at Montclair State University offers students a wide array of courses in Spanish and Latin American literature, Hispanic and Latino cultural studies, and different aspects of the Spanish language.  Once they complete a set of core courses, students may choose different combinations of electives depending on their academic interests.

Academic Requirements

You need the following GPA score:

Recommended score: 3.25

Applicants for graduate programs must have the equivalent of a bachelor’s degree with a minimum GPA equivalent to 2 on a US 4.0 grading scale. Admitted applicants typically have an undergraduate GPA of 3.25 or better on a 4.0 scale. No exam grade should be lower than 4.5 (European grade scale) or D (American grade scale).

Your GPA (Grade Point Average) is calculated using the grades that you received in each course, and is determined by the points assigned to each grade (e.g. for the US grading scale from A-F).

General Requirements

A minimum of 120 credits of coursework is required for the baccalaureate degree with a minimum 2.0 overall GPA, and a minimum 2.0 major GPA. However, more than 120 credits may be required depending upon the major field of study.
