  • Students enrolled in Entrepreneurship program can pursue either a Bachelor of Science degree that provides them with the flexibility to develop the type of businesses they have interest in, or a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree that places emphasis on the development of creative thinking solutions within the business world. The business administration degree is also offered as a fully online program for students who wish to complete their studies from their own location.
  • At Western Carolina University, entrepreneurship is a practical, hands-on program with a curriculum designed by actual entrepreneurs who meet the challenges of growing an entrepreneurial venture in the face of increasing competition. The Bachelor of Science major combines courses from disciplines such as accounting, mathematics and economics with discipline-specific courses in an area of knowledge in the type of business students would like to start. The Bachelor of Science in Business Administration major combines business core requirements from disciplines such as accounting, economics, management and marketing with mid-to-upper-level entrepreneurship courses and electives. Whichever degree option they choose to pursue, all students participate in service-learning activities while working with regional professionals and businesses.

English Language Requirements

    The TOEFL®PBT is administered in a paper format and measures your ability to use and understand English in a classroom setting at the college or university level. It accurately measures how well you can listen, read and write in English while performing academic tasks.

General Requirements

  • Be sure that you complete the correct application. Be sure to be truthful, accurate and thorough. 
    • Application fee: This required, nonrefundable processing fee should be submitted at the time of application. The online application provides information about electronic submission of the application fee.
    • A majority of first-year prospective students submit an application prior to high school completion. An official high school transcript (or its equivalent) showing work completed to date is required at the time of application and prior to application deadlines. 
    • First-year applicants are required to submit official SAT I or ACT scores. Applicants are encouraged to take the same type of test at least twice (once in the spring of the junior year and once in the fall of the senior year) and may consider taking both the SAT I and ACT based upon score results.
