Overview

The graduate is prepared to analyze and design complex mechanical systems involving all three areas. The degree is a general one with an elective allowing for a modest degree of specialization.

Program Mission

The Mechanical Engineering program at California State University Chico  has the primary mission of providing a high-quality undergraduate engineering education with:

What do engineers do?

You may think of engineers as the designers of cars, computers, airplanes, and bridges, but do you associate them with bubble gum, baseball bats, movie special effects, roller coasters, and synthetic human tissue replacements. Engineers are involved in designing nearly everything you see, touch, and hear. Engineering innovations fuel economic growth, improve health care, and safeguard the environment and engineers have a part in all these and more.
