Overview
At the Physics programme offered by Chapman University you’ll study the building blocks of nature and reality—from atoms and molecules all the way to galaxies—with ample opportunities for significant research experience along the way.
Graduates will be able to use mathematics and fundamental principles to understand the world around us, organize information, analyze data and solve complex problems. These skills form a solid foundation for a variety of paths into higher education and are in high demand across a wide range of lucrative careers.
Where this degree will take you
After finishing the program, you’ll have a strong foundation in quantitative analytical techniques and have extensive research experience. These assets make graduates well-prepared for:
- Further education in a variety of Master's and Ph.D. programs, such as physics, mathematics, physical chemistry, astrophysics, biophysics, neuroscience, computational and data science, and many engineering specializations.
- Further education in Medical School (In fact, physics is one of the top three majors with the highest success rate for entrance into medical school!)
- Careers in technical fields like physics, mathematics, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, civil engineering, aerospace engineering, and national defense.
- Careers in computational fields like software engineering, data analytics, computational science, and data visualization.
- Careers in the business and financial sector, such as quantitative economics, business analytics, technical consulting, and other entrepreneurial activities.
