Overview

The Physical Education program at Towson University provides students with a planned, sequential, PreK-12 standards-based program of curricula and instruction designed to develop motor skills, knowledge and behaviors for active living, physical fitness, sportsmanship, self-efficacy and emotional intelligence (SHAPE America).

Students are prepared to effectively plan and deliver these standards-based content and instruction.

In the Physical Education program at Towson University, you will gain knowledge and strategies to support the development of human movement, skills, and confidence in physical literacy.

Opportunities

The Physical Education program at Towson University prepares you to become a competent physical educator consistent with developmentally and instructionally appropriate guidelines provided by SHAPE America, Society of Health and Physical Educators. Graduates of the program are eligible for certification as a PreK-12 physical education teacher in Maryland and other states.
