Overview

Students who select Biology as their major must have completed at least 15 credit hours at University of Arkansas at Little Rock, have a cumulative grade point average of 2.00 or greater on all course work at UALR, and have taken BIOL 1400 or BIOL 1401 (or equivalent) with a grade of C or greater.

Students who entered UALR conditionally by contract must complete the contract before being eligible for admission to the biology program.

Decisions regarding course equivalency and situations in which students have tested out of courses or transferred credit from other programs will be made by the department chairperson. Transfer students with 30 hours or more in transfer credit may be accepted into the biology degree program with fewer than 15 hours at UALR with the approval of the department chairperson.

  • Application for admission and pay the $40 application fee. There’s no application fee for military students – request your waiver here.
  • Immunization records or Titer Test showing Immunity (for students born after 1956) can be sent via mail, emailed to admissions@ualr.edu, or faxed to 501-569-8956.
  • Official high school transcript Ask your counselor to send a current high school transcript. After you graduate, we will need a final high school transcript with your graduation posted.
  • Official college entrance exam scores Ask your counselor to send your scores along with your current high school transcript or request your scores through the exam provider.
  • Official college transcripts (If you have taken college classes while in high school) from all post-secondary schools you’ve attended.
