At the University of Louisiana at Lafayette we offer a bachelor degree in Civil Engineering. With a background spanning so many different areas, you'll be ready to work on a variety of civil engineering projects after graduation.

Here, you'll be able to conduct more than 270 hours of planning and performing experiments, plus interpreting that data and presenting it through lab reports.

Key Features

Our department consults with area firms and companies to research foundational, storm water, water and wastewater treatment, and pilot studies, and they regularly employ students to assist with these projects.

Because of our proximity to the Louisiana coastline, we are also well versed in the region's common engineering challenges, which means you will easily find employment in the area — but our curriculum is broad enough that you can work anywhere across the country.

What you'll learn:

Our curriculum includes required courses involving structural, geotechnical, transportation, water resources and environmental engineering, plus six hours of electives

Through our courses, our students learn and understand the design process for systems and components, and they will be able to perform design at a level expected of an entry-level engineer. Plus, our courses expose you to many standards and codes used in the design process.
