About

Asian Studies at Hofstra University is an interdisciplinary program designed to foster understanding of the traditional and modern societies of Asia. The program examines the cultures within Asia and explores Asia’s relationships with the countries of North America and Europe.

Overview

You can apply to the Asian Studies program at Hofstra University with the help of INTO, free of charge. If you satisfy the university admission requirements and the minimum English language scores you can choose the option of direct undergraduate admission.

They will help you apply to multiple universities at once, take care of the student I-20 Form for US entry, and will not charge you any fees for the university application.

What to expect from studying this Asian Studies program

Learn about how culture grows and transforms and the major events that shaped our human society. You will develop creative and critical thinking. Become part of the discussion and the force of change that will shape our future and create a medium for discourse, idea exchange and the development of new ideas.

By understanding the various aspects that make us human, you learn to bridge the gap and the differences between different cultures, and focus on the things we have in common, instead of our differences. Teaching is an important component of the Asian Studies program, as once you will develop your knowledge of human culture you are responsible for sharing this knowledge with others, creating awareness and educating.

Courses in the program are taught in many Hofstra departments, including Anthropology, Comparative Literature and Languages, Economics and Geography, Fine Arts, History, Linguistics, Philosophy, Religion, Philosophy and Political Science.  Students in the program are required to complete a minor in another discipline as part of the Asian Studies requirements.
