Program Details

In the African Studies programme at Hofstra University students can pursue either a Bachelor of Arts or a minor in Africana Studies, and learn about the identities, history, geography, language, politics, economics, and cultural experience of the African people, as well as Black peoples in the Americas and Europe.

The Africana Studies major will introduce the student to an interdisciplinary program that coordinates and develops courses in African and African Diaspora life and culture.

Hofstra also offers study abroad opportunities and language courses in Swahili.
