Chinese, however, is not so much difficult as it is different from more familiar languages, with its beautiful characters and poetic tones. 1.2 billion people speak it with no trouble every day, and students who have studied a couple of years of Chinese at Carleton can converse fluently in daily Chinese.

Test Scores (optional): SAT or ACT

Carleton is adopting a test-optional policy for first-year applicants applying for admission for entry in Fall 2022. This means results of the SAT or the ACT are not required, but you may still submit them.

Carleton does not require the writing section for either test

Students can self-report SAT and ACT scores in lieu of sending an official score report from the testing agency.
