Medical Imaging Technology

Overview

Medical imaging technologists are also capable of assessing the technical quality of the image and providing patient care. The technologist must function as a member of the healthcare team.

The B.S. Medical Imaging Technology (MIT) program offers individuals the opportunity to expand their knowledge, skills and career options in the imaging professions.  The medical imaging technologist in radiologic sciences is a skilled radiographer qualified to provide patient service in computed tomography (CT), echocardiography- adult echo (AE), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), mammography (M), sonography (S), and vascular sonography (RVT).  These areas represent the most advanced imaging in diagnostic radiology.

Mission

The mission of Indiana University Kokomo, a regional campus of Indiana University, is to enhance the educational and professional attainment of the residents of north central Indiana through effective teaching, learning, and civic engagement and by providing a wide range of bachelor's degrees, and a limited number of master's and associate degrees.
