Program Overview

The B.S.Ed Physical Science - Physics Major from Ohio University prepares you for a two-year provisional license that qualifies you to teach physics and chemistry in grades 7-12.

Regardless of the college of the university from which you will graduate, if you wish to be licensed through Ohio University to teach physics, you must complete the following program and earn passing scores on the Ohio Assessments for Educators (OAE) exams and a Teacher Performance Assessment (TPA).

Freshman/First-Year Admission

All students pursuing teacher education programs at Ohio University are subject to the Selective Admission and Retention Program in teacher education. Generally, candidates apply for admission to Teacher Candidacy during the second semester of your first year.
