Program Overview

The B.S.Ed. Earth and Space Science Major from Ohio University must be completed and you must earn passing scores on the Ohio Assessments for Educators (OAE) exams and a Teacher Performance Assessment (TPA) in order to be licensed through Ohio University to teach earth science in Ohio.

The Adolescent to Young Adult (AYA) program includes seven majors: Integrated Language Arts, Integrated Mathematics, Integrated Social Studies, Integrated Science, Earth/Space Science, Life Science and Physical Science.

Freshman/First-Year Admission

All students pursuing teacher education programs at Ohio University are subject to the Selective Admission and Retention Program in teacher education. Criteria and procedures are available in the Office of Student Affairs, McCracken Hall. Admission to Teacher Candidacy is required before taking any education courses at the 2000-level or higher.Regional campus students should check with their Office of Student Affairs or the Dean’s office on the regional campus for information.
