Key facts

For more than a century, the Department of English and Comparative Literature has fostered a deep engagement with literature and language at San Diego State University. We are home to world-class poets and writers, award-winning scholars of literature, and national leaders in the fields of digital humanities and children's literature. We are also home to SDSU Press and three journals, offering opportunities for students to contribute to the field of literary expression in academic and creative ways.
