The Division of Architecture at the University of Oklahoma is committed to educating students of diverse backgrounds and interests through graduate level studies in architecture. Focused on advancing architecture and society through education, scholarship, and service, the graduate degree programs provide a creative and challenging forum through which students engage environmental and social issues, thereby actively shaping the profession of architecture.

English Language Requirements

Academic Requirements

You need the following GPA score:

Required score: 3

Applicants for graduate programs must have the equivalent of a bachelor’s degree with a minimum GPA equivalent to 3 on a US 4.0 grading scale. Admitted applicants typically have an undergraduate GPA of or better on a 4.0 scale. No exam grade should be lower than 4.5 (European grade scale) or D (American grade scale).

Your GPA (Grade Point Average) is calculated using the grades that you received in each course, and is determined by the points assigned to each grade (e.g. for the US grading scale from A-F).

General Requirements

  • All students applying to graduate programs in the College of Architecture must submit their applications through the Graduate College’s online portal. 
  • All applicants must meet a 3.0 minimum grade point average. Furthermore, Physics and Calculus are required for entry into the professional Masters of Architecture degree options. 
  • Applicants to the 4 semester degree track program may be admitted to the 7 semester program and required to submit documentation related to coursework completed elsewhere in order to gain advanced standing. 
  • The purpose for this stipulation is to comply with standards established by NAAB, which requires evidence that certain learning objectives/criteria have been met in prior coursework.
