The interdisciplinary Bachelor of Science degree in Neuroscience is offered jointly through the Departments of Psychology and Biology. The mission of the program is to provide students' comprehensive training in the foundations of modern neuroscience from the cellular to systems level, as well as basic and applied knowledge in general science, psychology, and biology.

Directed learning experiences are also included to develop research skills. A major aim of the program is to equip students with the knowledge and skills that will prepare them to successfully pursue graduate studies in a variety of basic and applied disciplines with a neuroscience focus, from cognitive and biological sciences to biotechnology and medicine.

All Neuroscience students should consult with an advisor on issues such as course selection. Advisement is offered jointly between the Department of Biology and the Department of Psychology. Issues concerning Biology courses should be directed to the Biology Advisors and issues concerning Psychology courses should be directed to the Neuroscience Psychology Advisor.

Additionally, Neuroscience students have a unique opportunity to seek advisement from a Professional School Advisor who can aid in preparations for professional graduate school programs (medical, dental, optometry, etc.).

Academic Requirements

You need the following GPA score:

Applicants for graduate programs must have the equivalent of a bachelor’s degree with a minimum GPA equivalent to 3 on a US 4.0 grading scale. Admitted applicants typically have an undergraduate GPA of or better on a 4.0 scale. No exam grade should be lower than 4.5 (European grade scale) or D (American grade scale).

Your GPA (Grade Point Average) is calculated using the grades that you received in each course, and is determined by the points assigned to each grade (e.g. for the US grading scale from A-F).

To be admitted to an undergraduate degree program as a regular freshman student, you must be a graduate of an approved or accredited high school and satisfy the below requirements:
