The Manufacturing Engineering program at North Dakota State University will teach students about the application of scientific principles to the production of goods. They are key team members in production of a wide range of products: automobiles, airplanes, tractors, electronics, surgical instruments, toys, building products, foodstuffs, sports and recreational equipment, and more.


The Program

The Department of Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering (IME) at North Dakota State University offers two programs leading to either a Bachelor of Science degree in Manufacturing Engineering or Industrial Engineering and Management. Both programs are accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET.

As a graduate of the Manufacturing Engineering program at North Dakota State University, you will have the opportunity to design systems and processes that improve the quality and productivity of an organization’s business activities.   • To be considered for admission, all applicants should have an educational background in the core curriculum of laboratory science, mathematics, social science, and English
  • A secondary or high school grade point average of at least 2.75 (4.0 scale) or the equivalent in core subjects is recommended
