Overview

Our students spend their time learning how to analyze and articulate their own responses to literary texts, and improving their critical thinking, writing, and collaboration skills. A major in English from the College of William & Mary is a gateway into a wide range of careers in the professional, corporate, educational, and nonprofit fields.

Opportunities for undergraduate research include independent study, summer research scholarships, research assistantships, and internships. During the senior year a student who qualifies may pursue Honors in literature or creative writing.
