Overview

The Biology Department occupies portions of the Integrated Science Center and Millington Hall on the main campus, along with a building for ecological and population studies on the edge of campus. Also available for research and coursework are the College Woods, Lake Matoaka, and a house on the Eastern Shore of Virginia.

Subjects within the field of biology range in scale from molecular genetics to global biodiversity.  The biology program has a focus of hands-on research, encouraging independent work and internships with experts in the field.  Our graduates share a degree in biology but work in diverse fields such as medicine, environmental management, research, industry, science writing and law.

  • A completed Common Application or Coalition Application. 
  • $75 application fee: The $75 (USD) application fee 
  • Secondary School Report Form including official records of your courses and grades from all secondary schools and universities you have attended.
  • Results of the appropriate tests a) SAT I or ACT; and b) TOEFL or IELTS. Please request that the results be sent directly to William & Mary by the testing organization. Only the official results will be used in evaluating your application.
