Programme Structure

The B.G.S. Liberal Arts and Sciences degree option is:

  • Not an “Easy Out” degree option. Academic standards are the same for all degrees granted by the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.
  • Not a quick option for a bachelor’s degree.  (A minimum of 120 hours required, including degree specific coursework.)  
  • Not an option in which students may pursue majors or minors in the College.

Academic Requirements

You need the following GPA score:

Required score: 2.5

Applicants for graduate programs must have the equivalent of a bachelor’s degree with a minimum GPA equivalent to 2.5 on a US 4.0 grading scale. Admitted applicants typically have an undergraduate GPA of or better on a 4.0 scale. No exam grade should be lower than 4.5 (European grade scale) or D (American grade scale).

Your GPA (Grade Point Average) is calculated using the grades that you received in each course, and is determined by the points assigned to each grade (e.g. for the US grading scale from A-F).

General Requirements

Freshmen must:

  • Provide evidence of high school graduation with a curriculum that would prepare you for university studies in your home country
  • Credentials and Requirements by Country for Freshman Addition to the College of LIberal Arts and Sciences
  • Have a GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale;
  • Submit English proficiency test scores (dependent upon score level, scores are used to either determine English proficiency or to estimate students' placement in an appropriate level of ESL courses, as needed)
