Overview

Graduates find employment in diverse ag- and bio-related industries and government agencies dealing with agricultural machines and buildings, animal and environmental control, grain processing and handling, soil and water resources, food, biorenewables, and biotechnology. Their work involves engineering design, development, testing, research, manufacturing, consulting, sales, and service. Students are highly encouraged to participate in either cooperative education or internship programs.

The department also offers a bachelor of science curriculum in biological systems engineering. Additionally, the department offers bachelor of science curricula in agricultural systems technology and in industrial technology.

Well-qualified juniors and seniors in agricultural engineering who are interested in graduate study may apply for concurrent enrollment in the Graduate College to simultaneously pursue a bachelor of science degree in agricultural engineering and a master of science degree in agricultural engineering.  A concurrent bachelor of science and master of business administration program is also offered by the department. Academic Requirements

You need the following GPA score:

Required score: 3.25

Applicants for graduate programs must have the equivalent of a bachelor’s degree with a minimum GPA equivalent to 3.25 on a US 4.0 grading scale. Admitted applicants typically have an undergraduate GPA of or better on a 4.0 scale. No exam grade should be lower than 4.5 (European grade scale) or D (American grade scale).

Your GPA (Grade Point Average) is calculated using the grades that you received in each course, and is determined by the points assigned to each grade (e.g. for the US grading scale from A-F).

General Requirements

  • Grades of no worse than a B in all required accounting courses.
  • Completed at least four upper division accounting courses, including Acct 387
  • Demonstrate strong professional communication skills through the required essays
  • GMAT score of at least 50th percentile*
  • GMAT writing of at least 4.5*

  • Strong references from professional work experience and faculty
