The Secondary Education program at the University of Hawaii at Manoa is rooted in a sense of place and community as a foundation for sparking students’ wonder and imagination about their future contributions to their communities and our world. We develop educatators who empower all youth to envision themselves as the local and global leaders of tomorrow.

The Secondary Education program at the University of Hawaii at Manoa prepares teachers who contribute to crafting schools that inspire and provide students with opportunities to develop dispositions, knowledge, skills, to contribute to problem solving, reasoning, collaborating, and communicating effectively in order to enact their agency to create a peaceful, democratic, and technologically-rich society.
