These awards are generously funded by friends, supporters, and colleagues of past president Dr. Dominique Abrioux in recognition of his remarkable contribution to Athabasca University throughout his 25-year career and 10 year presidency (1995-2005).

The scholarship is worth $2,000.

Eligibility

  • Awarded annually to students pursuing a graduate degree at Athabasca University who are within 15 credits of completing their master's degree and have a cumulative GPA of 3.6 or greater. AU Doctoral students are not eligible.
  • Recipients will be selected based on proven ability to balance full-time employment, family, and community roles with a significant course load and record of academic achievement. Preference will be given to applicants who plan to complete their degree within 12 months of applying for this scholarship.
  • Further preference will be given to students who have had to overcome a significant educational, financial, or societal hurdle to pursue their program.
