In 1876 Central Institute, which was to become Hendrix College, was established in Altus, Arkansas, by the Rev. Isham L. Burrow. Burrow was serving as a minister in the Methodist Episcopal Church, South (now a part of the United Methodist Church) at the time.
Hendrix College cultivates empathy, creativity, self-understanding, rigorous inquiry, informed deliberation, and active learning across the liberal arts, toward the development of the whole person. Through engagement that links the classroom with the world, and a commitment to diversity, inclusion, justice, and sustainable living, the Hendrix community inspires students to lead lives of accomplishment, integrity, service, and joy.

Hendrix is a residential college. Living in a residence hall is part of the educational experience, just like going to class. You meet new people, encounter new ideas, overcome differences, and develop long-lasting friendships.
Hendrix student life means club meetings and movie nights, music and theatre, games and guest speakers, sports and student government. And that's just one week.
I had a chance to experience a real campus life as well as greatly improve my English la language skills.
