The College of Bytown was founded in 1848 by the Oblates of Mary Immaculate as a bilingual Catholic college; from its very beginnings, students studied in both English and French. In 1866, the recently renamed College of Ottawa was elevated to university status by royal charter, and in 1889, it secured a pontifical charter. In 1965, the Oblates relinquished administration of the University and it became a provincially funded secular institution.

I feel like I’ve learned skills that help me be a better person
My study experience has been extremely rewarding. Having studied in political science and law, I now graduate with two degrees. Over the years, I have developed excellent relationships with my peers and rewarding mentoring experiences with professors.
I had always travelled a lot so i had the possibility to meet different cultures and different school programs. I feel good in my university even if is often difficult to respect all the schedules teachers offer us. For example in my primary school i hardly learnt English and still i have doubts on this language
