On May 15, 1989, Bond University welcomed its first cohort of 322 students at its brand new, state-of-the-art campus on Queensland’s Gold Coast.The vision for Australia’s first private, not-for-profit university, was to provide an exclusive educational experience consisting of the highest international standards, under the tutelage of the country’s leading academics.
Bond University's 5 year Research Strategic Plan (2018-2022) sets out a vision and strategy to position high quality and focused research as a core to University business. The plan sets bold measures of research success for the University and its students that reflect the critical function of the University in society as an institution for learning, discovery, scholarship and invention. It recognises that Bond has quickly developed its research profile and productivity over a relatively short time frame and acknowledges the need for capacity building investments and strategy to facilitate research impact.

Bond University Sports Centre is open seven days a week and membership is included in your Student Services and Amenities Fee. In addition to the weights and boxing circuit rooms, they offer a weekly timetable of aerobics, TRX, pilates and yoga classes or you can soothe away the study stress with a spa, sauna and swim in the 25m and 50m pool.
The Bond University Student Association (BUSA) is your student organisation and provides services to the broader student community. BUSA's mission is to make student life at Bond more rewarding - ranging from enhancing academic pursuits, facilitating sporting involvement and satisfying social necessities. BUSA is a voluntary, apolitical group of elected students here to represent you and help you make the most of your time at Bond.
