By undertaking a multi-disciplinary approach to learning, students at Bond can become knowledgeable in broad range of topics and develop a transferable skill set. The Bachelor of Global Studies (Sustainability) allows graduates to be knowledgeable in global studies and sustainability, by exploring topics such as: sustainable development and society, economics of sustainable development, and prospects for global politics.
Our small class sizes and personalised teaching methods ensure students understand critical sustainability issues both in a global and local context and in a practical and theoretical setting.
The Global Studies (Sustainability) from Bond University is a unique interdisciplinary degree that will equip you with the capacity to formulate solutions to the challenges of globalisation and the development of sustainable communities. The structure of the program follows world megatrends, reflected in the interconnectivity and interplay within diverse fields of study: climate change, sustainable development, global health and disease, international institutions and transnational business. The program also aims to prepare you for fronting increased human security threats through sustained transnational collaboration. The global dialogue needed for the security of globalised communities requires competencies in International Relations, diplomacy and intercultural partnership. The Bachelor of Global Studies (Sustainability) develops you to be an active global citizen with the knowledge and skills to enable you to contribute to the development of sustainable societies of the future.
Professional outcomes
Graduates of this program will have an increased understanding of critical sustainability issues in the global and local contexts. They will have cognitive skills to identify, analyse and synthesise knowledge relating to different causes and possible solutions of global sustainability challenges. Graduates could expect to find employment in the following fields: Community Development, Foreign Agricultural and Fisheries, Environmental Impact Assessment, Ethical Supply Chain Management, Diplomacy and Trade.
