Our children's nursing team is there to support you throughout your degree, and your course is divided equally between class-based learning and on mentored clinical placements to give you the unique, professional insight into the diverse care needs of both healthy and sick children, and their families.

Some of the reasons for that include our fantastic health facilities on campus following a recent £28 million investment, along with our hands-on approach to your development.

Our Child Nursing (Hons) degree is also approved by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), so you’ll be able to register as a qualified nurse when you graduate.

Future prospects

By the end of your course, you’ll be ready to undertake the responsibilities of a health practitioner and eligible to register with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).

Most of our graduates go on to work in the NHS – but others find positions overseas, in private practice, in the social services, the pharmaceutical industry, the Armed Forces, the prison service or in specialist areas such as drug rehabilitation.
