This non-repayable allowance is paid in addition to other student finance and does not affect benefits or tax credits. The University of Hull page lists a maximum of £1,766 per year, but this figure is outdated. The current official government amount is between £50 and £2,024 for each year of study.

- a full-time undergraduate course
- an Initial Teacher Training (ITT) course
