Overview

When you graduate from the Civil Engineering (Hons) course from Loughborough University , you are likely to be part of a team working on the planning, design, building and maintenance of infrastructure systems such as bridges, roads, railways and a variety of buildings such as skyscrapers, airports, hospitals or sports stadia worldwide. This requires an understanding and appreciation of the various people and processes that contribute to the construction cycle, that you can only acquire by studying in an integrated School such as ours.

Our Civil Engineering degree is strongly analytical and will equip you to work in many industries and sectors. Most of our students remain in the construction sector, working for a range of companies on a wide variety of projects. Engineers have some of the top-earning starting salaries due to their unique and specialist skillset. Chartered Engineers command even higher salaries.
Our strong links with industry, our sponsorship scheme and the high uptake of students taking a year's industrial placement means most of our students are able to secure graduate-level jobs either directly from the year out or early in their final year.
